Our Commitment to Privacy

CSVTool.io is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your data belongs to you, and we've built our tools to ensure your files stay private.

How Your Files Are Processed

File processing happens in your browser on every tool except the clearly labeled Image to CSV Converter (see the next section). When you upload or paste data into any browser-only tool:

• Your files are processed entirely on your device using JavaScript
• No data is sent to our servers or any third-party services
• Your files never leave your browser
• We cannot see, access, or store your file contents

The One Exception: Image to CSV

The Image to CSV Converter uses an AI vision model to read tables out of photos and screenshots, and that cannot run in your browser. When you use that tool — and only that tool:

• Your image is sent to our server and forwarded to a third-party AI model through Vercel AI Gateway for transcription.
• This is disclosed on the page itself, and uploads are disabled until you confirm you understand it.
• CSVTool does not store your image or the extracted data; processing is per-request. We request gateway routing that disallows using prompts for model training, but the image is necessarily processed by infrastructure we do not operate, so do not upload images you are not allowed to share.
• Our server logs for this feature record only operational metadata (model name, timing, row count, token usage) — never the image or the extracted cell contents.

What We Collect

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand whether pages and workflows are useful. We deliberately limit product events to coarse, non-content information:

• Page visits: The page URL (site origin and path), without query strings or URL fragments.
• Workflow events: Tool and sample identifiers, file extension, coarse file-size and result-count buckets, processing stage, and a fixed error category.

We do not collect:

• File contents or data you process
• File names, headers, cell values, file hashes, inferred schema contents, or source URL contents
• Exact file sizes, row counts, column counts, finding counts, or raw error messages
• Personal information (name, email, etc.) unless you contact us
• Information that could identify specific individuals

Cookies

CSVTool does not set application cookies for file processing, preferences, advertising, or cross-site tracking. Your browser may temporarily hold working data in memory or session storage when you deliberately hand a CSV from one CSVTool workflow to another. That local data is scoped to your browser tab and is not sent to us.

Third-Party Services

CSVTool.io uses the following third-party services:

• Vercel: Website hosting, delivery, and privacy-limited web analytics.
• Vercel AI Gateway (Image to CSV only): routes images uploaded to that tool to a third-party AI model for table transcription, as described above.

Vercel does not receive file contents from our browser-only tools. It necessarily receives the image for Image to CSV, as described above. Standard hosting request information, AI Gateway processing, and the limited analytics fields described above remain subject to Vercel's privacy policy.

Data Security

For browser-only tools, your files stay on your device. For Image to CSV, the image is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and processed per request; CSVTool does not store the image or extracted table.

• CSVTool does not persist your files or extracted data
• Browser-only tool inputs are as secure as your own device
• HTTPS is enabled by default for encrypted connections
• Do not use Image to CSV for data you are not permitted to send to a third party

Children's Privacy

CSVTool.io is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes by posting a notice on our website.
